TESTING FOR COVID-19: Free testing is available to students, faculty, and staff Monday–Friday, 8 a.m – 5 p.m. at the Great HallMake an appointment for a COVID test. The Great Hall is upstairs in the College Creek Community Center on the campus of Humboldt State University. The College Creek Community Center's entrance is on Harpst St.


HSU’s Testing Center currently proctors exams for the following 

  • PearsonVue - Dates through December are now available
  • ETS (GRE, TOEFL, and Praxis exams only) - ON HOLD: ETS is separating from Prometrics, and we are in the process of re-applying with ETS so that HSU may continue to offer the GRE, TOEFL, and PRAXIS. Until we are approved, we will not be able to proctor ETS exams.
  • PSI - Currently available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
  • GWPE - FALL 2021 GWPE registration is now open. Registration information can be found here: gwpe.humboldt.edu
  • Proctoring Services - Please email testing@humboldt.edu for information regarding Prcotoring Services for other institutions and distant learning.

Social-distancing-guidelines and sanitation procedures are currently in place. Please abide by CA State Guidelines for Social-Distancing. You will be required to wear a mask when checking-in for your exam.

GWPE Update (August 13, 2021)

GWPE: Fall GWPE registration is now open.

  1. Log on to myHumboldt from the humboldt.edu site
  2. Select the drop down menu on the top titled "Portal Pages" 
  3. Select "Financial Matters" 
  4. Select “Register/Pay for GWPE” 
  5. Select “Make a Payment”
  6. Locate “Graduate Writing Proficiency Exam Registration” link
  7. Select the week you want to take the GWPE on Canvas
  8. Select the appropriate option and complete the transaction
    (a) Make sure to keep your e-receipt for future reference

A $32.00 fee will be placed into your student center once you have accepted the GWPE course information.
